Overview YLRTC Backdrop Beneficiary |
In 1995, the school dress code became effective for most Cleveland Municipal School District students. In addition to other benefits realized under the dress code, overall clothing costs for parents and students was set to decline significantly. However, district parents still face difficulties paying for school clothes within the constraints of fixed household budgets and the demands of growing children. Many families find themselves unable to send their kids to school with clean and properly fitting clothes that engender confidence. Through funds raised by the YLRTC program, family expenses such as school clothes, college visits, summer job transportation, and other overlooked financial concerns can be removed as impediments to kids reaching their maximum potential. The Kids First Fund is established and administered under the discretionary authority of the My Part Community Advancement Board of Trustees with the intention of ensuring that kids and families benefit through disbursements that are prioritized based on economic need. |
